During the past few months I have been experimenting a lot with niche, page-based themes. While these designs are great, I realize that it is also important not to ignore the core blogging community on which WordPress is built. With my newest theme, PersonalPress, I wanted to return to my roots and create a more traditional blog-style theme with a personal touch. PersonalPress is a great design for those looking to give their blog a fun and light-hearted feel. For more information be sure to view the Live Demo as well as the Features Page.
PersonalPress Features
1. WordPress 3.0 Nav Menu integration – In preparation for WordPress 3.0, the new nav menu function has been integrated into the theme (and will be integrated into all themes shortly). It has been added in a way that will not conflict with ePanel, or anyone’s current navigation setup. If you do not define a custom nav menu is WordPress than the navigation menu will function just as it always has. 2. Five Alternate Colorschemes – The theme comes with five different color variations. If you don’t like Red, then be sure to try the Blue, Purple, Teal, or Green versions. 3. Social Media Widget – Due to the “personal” nature of the theme, I have added a social media widget that can be used to connect people to your various social outlets. If you are looking for some great icons to use, be sure to check out the Elegant Social Media Icon Set that I released a few weeks ago.
What’s To Come
What is on the horizon here at ElegantThemes? As usual we have some great new themes in the works. If you saw the latest batch of Sneak Peeks then you know that the release of TheSource is right around the corner! I have also been hard at work on something that I am really excited about: ElegantThemes v3. My main goal with the new version of the site will be to improve the userfriendliness of my themes through improved tech support features. For more info on all the great things I have planned for v3 you’ll just have to wait for my next blog post I am eager to hear your thoughts on PersonalPress. Be sure to leave a comment letting me know what you think.
